Aura - the exhibition

The exhibition Aura acts as an occasion to rediscover the figure of Raymond Duncan (until today mostly known as the brother of Isadora Duncan) through a dialogue with traces and stories discovered over the course of two years of research. As a result of a research/ expedition, the approach to Raymond Duncan's legacy is rather speculative than epistemological and it attempts to discover what lies behind his philosophy, ideals and acts.

The elements included in the exhibition are presented as exercises of reenactment interwoven with the public programme of PLANT, willing to bring Duncan's ideas up to date. The research and production of the exhibition/ performance are undertaken by the artistic collectives nyamnyam and rosanayaris and include audiovisual material with excerpts from the itinerary the artists made through the Duncans historical trip as well as other performative activations.

The exhibition premiered in Athens, in October 2023, then presented in Mieres, in May 2023, and also in Porto, in October 2024, as a result of the connection of this research to PLANT.
